Special Issue Announcement for “Science in Support of International Treaties on POPs”


We are pleased to announce that one of the upcoming issues of Atmospheric Pollution Research (APR) will be published as a special issue (SI) focusing on, “Science in Support of International Treaties on POPs” with Dr. Tom Harner of Environment Canada (Tom.Harner@ec.gc.ca) as the Handling Editor, and co-editors Dr. Matthew MacLeod ITM, Stockholm University and Dr. Hayley Hung, Environment Canada. The tentative deadline for manuscript submission to APR is April 1, 2012. Following the peer reviews, the special issue is expected to be published in the last quarter of 2012. Papers should present novel scientific studies or literature reviews that support either,

 

(i) UN-ECE LRTAP POPs protocol, including work contributing to the Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution (TF HTAP) or,

(ii) UNEP Stockholm Convention on POPs and the Global Monitoring Plan (GMP). This includes work dealing with air measurements of POPs (including process studies and climate effects), emissions, and modeling.
